Hello toddler!

Although she doesn’t have many words, she’s soo close to talking non stop. Sometimes babble just pours out of her mouth like she has so much to say and she’s tripping on all the sounds. Other times you’ll say something and she’ll immediately repeat it exactly once. I’ve heard kitty, “right there” and “hi bus” this week alone, but it disappears as quickly as it comes.

We often find ourselves saying that she is the Spearson having the most fun at any given time. She’s at the age where she’s just so happy to be doing anything, and be included in whatever it is we’re doing. Throw her in the stroller and point her towards something new to look at, and she’s thrilled. Run around the house and play peek a boo with her? Nothing better. Let her try some new treat she saw everyone else eating? Best day ever.

She loves to laugh and has this great belly laugh that is contagious and sarcastic all at the same time. We are absolutely sure that she understands humor and knows exactly what she’s doing as she steals something from you and runs off, or jumps on top of you and licks your face.

She just moved into the toddler room at daycare, which was a long time coming. She’s been spending her days standing at the door of the baby room and banging on the window watching the bigger kids play. When E and I show up at daycare to pick her up, she’ll see us as soon as we open the main door and start shrieking so loud the whole building knows that we’re there.

She waves to everyone, and especially loves going outside to greet the school bus every morning. When it comes to food, she eats exactly the opposite of the other two. She would rather eat kielbasa while they eat pasta, a croissant while they eat cereal, but overall all she ever wants are these stupid pouches that she screams for every day.

Sleep is finally getting back to normal now that some teeth have popped through and I think we’re getting over whatever regression was robbing us of sleep. Weirdly she now requires us to run the shower for a few minutes before bed? It doesn’t even have to be a steam shower (which is how this started weeks ago when she had a stuffy nose). Now she seems to just like the noise, and uses it as a cue to go to sleep. As long as it works!

Overall she’s just so much fun and everyone loves to play with her and see if they can get laughs out of her.
