So far I've shared bits and pieces of a nursery in progress: the painting, and the almost crib. Since then, we received the crib piece we needed to finish putting that together, and we've made progress in other areas of the room too. We've been tackling things in small chunks, which makes it much more manageable. Some days we might only have energy to take tags off of baby clothes, or to throw in a load of laundry, but piece by piece, things have been getting done.
I had hoped this would be the final nursery update, but there always seems to be more that needs to be done! In the meantime, I'll show you what IS done!
Let's start with the crib:
I guess it's not technically done, since I have to hang up the mobile, but at least it's finished enough to hold a baby! And nothing else... because babies aren't allowed to have blankets or toys or fun...
Also notice how clean and empty that picture makes the room seem? Yeah that's a total lie. Here's a more accurate picture which was taken mid construction project of some shelves for the closet. Which we didn't think we needed, since there were already shelves in the closet left there from the previous homeowners, but we soon discovered that they were not the best at putting things together... or very good at measuring.. or owning houses... so anyway the shelves needed to be replaced.
And of course because I can never just do something good enough, I decided I needed to go a step beyond and add some wallpaper to the shelves to make it more interesting. I'm having a hard time deciding how much wallpaper to add vs how much is too much, so it's possible I might keep adding to it over the next few weeks, but for now I'm enjoying it. Especially because it happens to match the walls! (Happens.. or was possibly the inspiration for the wall color originally. One of those things).
So now the finished product!
And by finished, I mean finished for now. Because that's not where those books will end up, and those baskets are all currently empty, but we're getting there! More updates to follow, of course!
